20 Apr 2017

Dentsu Aegis Network Korea today announces the appointment of Woohyun Nam as CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Korea, effective 1 May. Woohyun, Chief Strategy Officer of Dentsu Aegis Network Korea, will succeed Yoshihiro Nagai as he moves back to Dentsu Inc. in Japan after building a strong organizational foundation during his tenure.

Woohyun first joined the network in 2006 as Communications Planning Director, Carat Korea, and in just under two years, was recognised as one of the rising leaders. He was subsequently promoted to General Manager and doubled the agency growth in terms of staff strength and billings. During his career journey within the company, Woohyun was appointed CEO of various network brands including Carat, Vizeum and Isobar. Under his stewardship, Carat Korea won Agency of the Year for five consecutive years and Carat Korea was ranked number one in R3 new business league in 2012, 2013 and 2015.

In his current role as Chief Strategy Officer, Woohyun evolves and guides the strategic direction of the network in the capabilities of digital, content and productivity. As the new CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Korea, Woohyun will be responsible for fostering the culture of collaboration and reinventing the way we work in the era of today’s fourth industrial revolution, leading a strong team of over 190 specialists in the country.

Rob Hughes, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network North Asia, said: “As we continue our succession planning, there is no one more appropriate to take the role of CEO than Woohyun. He is a tremendous asset to the network and has a proven track record of strong business acumen and leadership. I look forward to working together with him to take Dentsu Aegis Network Korea to the next chapter of growth for our clients and business.

I would also like to thank Nagai san for his hard work and effectiveness in building Dentsu Aegis Network Korea as the strongest global network in the market. It has been a pleasure partnering with Nagai san and I wish him the very best for the next exciting chapter in his career,” Rob added.

Woohyun said: “In this post digital era, I believe Dentsu Aegis Network Korea will continue to stay ahead of our competitors on the basis of doing things different and better, and our proposition of innovating the way brands are built is key to this success. Now entrusted as the lead, I take it as my personal responsibility to develop new paths for our people and to pioneer new opportunities in the marketing and business environment. Especially in Korea, the current diversified world is not only a matter of physical and technical digitalization, but also the growing generation gap in today’s society. I am grateful to be given this opportunity to nurture the fundamental culture to become more collaborative, empower our operating model and unlock the holistic strength of our people.”
